India is notorious for hypocrisy, so much so that it's in our blood. We judge a woman for doing the same thing we turn a blind eye to when a male does it.

But there is also a more severe breed of hypocrisy. Take a look at 9 items India has produced that who completely redefine the term 'hypocrite' without even trying.

1. Mayawati

mayawati

While most politicians have a tendency to reach out to their voters separately based on caste and religion, Mayawati tried to woo dalits to vote in her favour in the name of Dr. Ambedkar. Dr. Ambedkar, also not so ironically said, "You cannot build anything on the foundation of caste. You cannot build up a nation. You cannot build up a morality."

2. Pankaj Nihlani

The current chief of the censor board (how the hell did he even get there?), the king of sleaze (producer of movies like Aakhen and Andaaz with songs like Khada hai, khada hai, khada hai) is now censoring words like MC, BC as well as scenes that contain nudity and gross indecencies. To add ghee to the fire, the chief believes producers should choose uncontroversial subjects.

3. Tanmay Bhatt

So he advocates the freedom of speech and how Indians should learn to laugh at themselves. However, Bhatt believes he shouldn't be laughing at his weight, and blocks people on Twitter who do.

4. Ashok Pandit

This is what he, a member of the censor board, had to say on the AIB Knockout, "Karan Johar could have easily shown his position while performing sex to his mom at home instead of making it public".

Way to go, Mr Pandit. Now go censor your face.

5. Narendra Modi

modi

"Communalism will take us nowhere" said this man who is now our Prime Minister. Before he came to power, he turned a blind eye towards the communal riots that swept through his state in 2002.

Modi also built toilets in villages, but a study by a journalist showed that the people living there were not using them. They preferred attending to the calls of nature by doing it in the great outdoors. Because who's going to train them on how to use the loo?

The budget has not been much of an uplift with higher prices and no moves by the government to tackle inflation. So much for "acche din"...

6. Aamir Khan

aamir khan

Don't get me wrong. I love Aamir Khan. He made movies that gave me hope that maybe Bollywood isn't all about giving the world an unrealistic image of India. But what inflamed the world was when he commented on the AIB Knockout, calling it offensive and not suitable for audiences. Really? The man who starred in films likeGhajiniRang De Basanti and Delhi Belly thinks freedom of speech is offensive and should be censored?

7. Mohan Bhagwat

The RSS chief just hit a new level of stupidity when he claimed Mother Teresa served the poor from the Missionaries of Charity in Calcutta with the aim of converting them to Christianity. Bhagwat, however, is also a full fledged supporter of the 'ghar wapsi' movement that aims to "re-convert" Muslims and Christians to Hinduism.

8. Sakshi Maharaj

Every Hindu woman must have 4 children to save the Hindu religion and 1 out of four of these children should be given to the RSS. An RJ interviewed Maharaj asking him if he would like to adopt orphans to induct into the RSS. He flatly refused.

9. Sadhvi Prachi

"I said have four children! Not forty puppies!" Ring a bell? We can't confirm whether she has children of her own but does she really have the answer to how women should lead their lives?

On another note, will watching SRK, Salman, and Aamir films trap girls into love jihad? We don't know. Perhaps Ms. Prachi should set an example by showing us how good Hindu mothers raise their offspring, and conduct an experiment on how a ban on Khan movies will prevent love struck Hindu girls eloping with Muslim boys.
